Last Friday, Klaus Rudert, Global Corporate Account Executive and Managing Director of Dow Germany and Benedikt Rammrath, Senior European Account Manager gave a guest lecture on sales force management in a global company. In line with current topics of the Sales Management lecture, they provided the students with insights into their daily experiences with current challenges, trade-offs regarding the organizational design, and ways to effectively manage the sales force and sales performance in a global company.

Erneute Berufung in den Datenschutz-Beirat des DB Konzerns

Mit Schreiben vom 20. Dezember 2018 berief Martin Seiler, Vorstand Personal und Recht der Deutsche Bahn AG, Professor Manfred Krafft für den Zeitraum 2019 bis 2021 erneut zum Mitglied des Datenschutz-Beirats der DB. Professor Krafft gehört seit Beginn der Arbeit des Beirats im Jahr 2010 diesem jetzt zwölfköpfigen Gremium an. Eine der Aufgaben des Beirats besteht in der Unterstützung des Vorstands und weiterer Verantwortlicher des Konzerndatenschutzes der DB, einen umfassenden Datenschutz im DB Konzern sicherzustellen.

Circle of Excellence in Marketing Supports Start-up Company “Lytt” in their Social Media Strategy

On December 12, 2018, members of the Circle of Excellence in Marketing (CEM) visited the newly founded start-up Lytt in Muenster. Two former students of the University of Muenster brought their idea of a digital person of trust for employees into life and have recently been awarded the founders scholarship EXIST. They are creating a software, which enables employees to contact third party mediators anonymously in case of discrimination, harassment, or other negative experiences at work they need help with.

Guest Lecture on the Role of Emotional Intelligence and Individual Traits in Sales Management

When being responsible for sales management, one crucial task is the identification and selection of potentially successful sales employees. The importance of the recruitment process results from the assumption, that a substantial part of what characterizes high-performers lies in his or her given aptitude. In this vein, Richard McFarland, Professor at ESSEC Business School in Paris, started his lecture last Friday by saying “You can’t teach smart”. In addition, he emphasized the risk of hiring the wrong salesperson by stating that costs of an employee’s bad sales performance could make up to two annual salaries – depending on how much it has taken to detect it at all.

Gemeinsame Wege in Wissenschaft und Praxis

Im Zuge der Digitalisierung sehen sich Unternehmen aus der Entertainmentbranche mit diversen Herausforderungen bei der Konzeption und Vermarktung ihrer Produkte konfrontiert. Dies betrifft damit auch die Herstellung und den Vertrieb von Filminhalten. Im Rahmen einer neuen Forschungskooperation unter dem Titel „Movie Success Lab“ wollen die Weltkino Filmverleih GmbH aus Leipzig und das Marketing Center Münster gemeinsam dem aktuellen Umbruch in der Kino- und Filmlandschaft begegnen.
