Enriching exchange at the CEM’s first virtual campfire

On December 2nd, 2020, the Circle of Excellence in Marketing (CEM) was happy to welcome Dr. Rob Britton for the remarkable 20th time. Britton, who gained extensive experience in the Airline Industry for over 20 years and now works as a consultant and professor, shared his valuable knowledge with the members of the CEM. Unlike common tips for career planning in the business context, Dr. Britton focused on giving advice that emphasized the importance of harmonizing professional and personal growth as well as wellbeing. Within the scope of his “Ten Pieces of Advice”, Dr. Britton especially highlighted the value of embracing change, giving back to one’s community and of maintaining close relationships.

Due to the current circumstances, Britton’s twenty-year anniversary at the CEM took place in a very special virtual setting. But owing to Britton’s warm and sympathetic nature, the exchange between him and the students was just as inspiring and vivid as in a physical environment. The virtual campfire was characterized by interesting anecdotes from Dr. Britton and curious questions from the students leading to an overall great exchange. The CEM wants to thank Dr. Rob Britton very much for his time and digital visit to Münster.

On a side note, students who are interested in becoming members of the CEM and in participating in events such as the virtual campfire are very much encouraged to submit their application documents by January 11, 2021.
