IfM in Colorado: One Conference, Two Research Projects, Three Cities
Denver, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs: within a few weeks, Manfred Krafft and Frederik Ferié of the Chair of Marketing Management (IfM) worked at three locations in Colorado.
In Denver, both attended the AMA Summer Academic Conference, one of the world's leading marketing conferences, and used the occasion to initiate new research partnerships.
In Fort Collins, they worked with Jonathan Zhang at Colorado State University on their joint project "AI Summarization": Do researchers interpret conditional effects correctly, and do AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, and ChatGPT reproduce these effects accurately when summarizing articles?

In Colorado Springs, Frederik Ferié and IfM doctoral student Eliza Starke joined co-author Robina Ghosh at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs to advance their project on the "Rivalry Reference Effect", which examines how brand rivalries affect other competitors in the same market.
Three cities, two projects, one finding: research thrives on meeting in person. In Colorado, the IfM moved ongoing projects forward and started new partnerships.
