The Institute of Marketing Mourns the Passing of Frenkel Ter Hofstede

The Institute of Marketing mourns the passing of Frenkel Ter Hofstede and offers its deepest sympathy to Frenkel’s family, friends, and colleagues over his tragic death after a fatal accident.
Frenkel Ter Hofstede was an associate professor of marketing at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. He coauthored an article on “How to Separate the Wheat from the Chaff: Improved Variable Selection for New Customer Acquisition” with Oliver Goetz, Professor Manfred Krafft, and Dr. Sebastian Tillmanns. A few days before his unexpected death, this paper was accepted for publication in Journal of Marketing. Frenkel joined the author team in 2012 and essentially contributed to the success of the research project. Throughout the collaboration, Frenkel visited the Institute of Marketing several times and hosted Manfred Krafft and Sebastian Tillmanns in Texas. We have lost a great colleague, and a good friend!
