As part of the research cooperation between the Chair for Marketing & Media and the Weltkino Filmverleih, this tow-day workshop brings together WWU students, the movie marketers from Weltkino, and the producers from the movie production company Neue Bioskop to design a social media campaign for a major German feature film* that will be shot in spring 2020.
In the workshop that is hosted by Prof. Thorsten Hennig-Thurau and the movie’s producers, Prof. Michael Kölmel and Dietmar Güntsche, the participants will, based on the movie script, analyze the marketing potential of the movie and develop a first concept for the movie's social media campaign. Thereby, the students have the opportunity to transfer their theoretical knowledge from their studies directly into practice. They will learn to design and implement social media campaigns for entertainment media products in a real-life scenario. Moreover, students will gain firsthand insights into film production and distribution.
