Vita

Born in Ibbenbüren/Westfalen in 1980, Björn Bohnenkamp studied Media and Cultural Studies (formerly known as Theatre, Film and Television Studies), German Literature and Political Science at Cologne University and Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris. He graduated in 2004 with a master thesis about Mobile Communication in Hollywood Movies. He received a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation. Furthermore he studied Business Administration at the Fernuniversität Hagen and Cologne University, focussing Marketing, Market Research and Media Management. He finished his studies 2007 with a diploma thesis about Common Method Bias.

Björn Bohnenkamp gathered work experience during internships in trade fair market research (IMK Osnabrück), media research (WDR Köln) and higher education development (CHE Gütersloh). From 2001 to 2004 he worked as a student assistant at the collaborative research centre "Media and Cultural Communication" in Cologne. From 2004 to 2007 he worked on a dissertation thesis about the presentation of generations in German mass media at the graduate school "Generation Studies" in Göttingen. In 2007 he was a Visiting Student Research Collaborator at Princeton University where he worked on a project about "Media Generations". From April 2008 till March 2010 Björn Bohnenkamp was a research/teaching assistant at the Bauhaus-University of Weimar. From April 2010 Björn Bohnenkamp is a research/teaching assistant at University of Muenster.
